A REGION TO GET TO KNOW
Bay-side connections. Coast-side possibilities.
The San Mateo County Peninsula connects bayside downtowns, residential hills and Pacific coast communities. A search across Burlingame, San Mateo, Redwood City and the coast can become much clearer when you compare actual daily routes and property types instead of a single regional average.
BUILD YOUR OWN SCOUTING ROUTE
Many places.
Your own way to be local.
Daly City, South San Francisco & San Bruno
Explore the specific streets and regional connections around each listing. Include parking, building layout and the path to transit in an in-person visit.
Millbrae & Burlingame
Compare downtown and station-area routines with other neighborhood settings. Check the precise transit trip rather than assuming every train or connection serves your schedule.
San Mateo & Foster City
Visit the downtown, residential and waterfront settings separately. A condo or townhome search should include association documents and the costs of common facilities.
Belmont, San Carlos & Redwood City
Each has a local center and several residential settings. Try the route from the listing to the places you use most, including any hillside access.
Menlo Park, Atherton, Woodside & Portola Valley
Identify the exact jurisdiction, property improvements and intended use. Larger or hillside properties deserve enough time for insurance, inspections and the lender’s property review.
Pacifica, Half Moon Bay & the coast
Coastal scenery is one part of everyday life. Test cross-Peninsula travel and ask appropriate professionals about property condition, local hazards and insurance for the specific address.
LEAVE TIME TO ENJOY THE PLACE
Outside. Around town.
At the table.
Coyote Point Recreation Area
A bayside park stop in San Mateo County. Check the county’s current facility and closure information when planning a visit.
Official visitor information ↗The Village Pub · Woodside
A restaurant on Woodside Road for a more planned dining stop. Review current menus and reservations directly with the restaurant.
Official visitor information ↗Independent local suggestions, not rankings or paid endorsements. Check current access, hours and reservations directly. A neighborhood visit should include the actual address and daily routes you would use.
FROM THE PLACE TO THE PLAN
Financing with the details in view.
Bring equity and income into the same file
A purchase may involve proceeds from an existing home, stock compensation or both. Ask what paperwork is needed and when funds must be available. Keep money you expect to receive separate from money you already have.
Understand attached-home obligations
For a condominium or townhome, establish the legal property type and association structure. Request the budget, assessments and insurance documents the lender needs. Exterior appearance alone does not settle the financing category.
Budget for the property you are buying
Compare actual taxes, insurance and maintenance needs. If renovations are part of the plan, discuss whether work is needed before closing and what funds would remain afterward. Avoid assuming all improvements can be deferred.
The Peninsula mortgage questions.
Do Peninsula and Silicon Valley guides overlap?
Yes. They describe useful regional perspectives, not mutually exclusive boundaries. The property’s county and legal characteristics control the financing review.
Can I compare a jumbo loan with an ARM?
Ask for comparable written scenarios. Jumbo describes loan size relative to conforming limits; adjustable rate describes how the rate behaves. They are different features, not opposite categories.
Where is your office?
Our office is at 538 San Ramon Valley Blvd in Danville, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. These guides describe our Bay Area service area; they do not imply an office in each community. Contact our team.
